EMS stands for “Electro Muscle Stimulation”. EMS causes muscle contractions using electrical impulses. Every movement in the body is produced by an electrical impulse sent from the brain to the muscle fibers. In conventional training these electrical signals cause muscle contractions and trigger movement. By using this natural principle, EMS is able to intensify the process to reach deeper muscle layers which are hard to activate through conventional training. This is achieved by applying EMS electrodes directly above the muscles. Your EMS trainer can control each muscle group by adjusting the training intensity according to your individual goals and comfort level.
The benefits are increased muscle definition, strength and endurance. Body By Impulse uses electro stimulation to achieve stronger and more intense muscle contraction than a voluntary exertion can achieve alone. Depending on intensity and individual goals, you can build muscle and achieve better definition. With EMS training you gain rapid strength in a shorter period of time. In fact 20 minutes of EMS training is as effective as 90 minutes of a general weight workout according to research results.
EMS IS GENTLE ON YOUR JOINTS
EMS does not cause the high joint stress associated with mechanical training. There is no strain on your joints as you don't have to use any weights. The intensity of your training is regulated through electro stimulation. EMS training is not dependent on high impact training, therefore the risks of strain and injury are greatly reduced.
COMPENSATION OF MUSCULAR IMBALANCE
Harmful, one-sided strain is avoided since all of the major muscle groups are trained at the same time. Your EMS-technician can target specific problem areas and help strengthen weaker muscle groups to correct imbalance.
SMOOTHER AND FIRMER SKIN
EMS contractions stimulate collagen production and encourage blood flow to the skin. We are able to calibrate the EMS device specifically to combat cellulite and firm up the upper tissue layers. This setting can regulate the depth to which the electric impulses protrude, keeping them at the upper tissue levels, thereby targeting the specific problem areas. Muscles visibly stand out with greater definition and firmness. As a result metabolism is quickened.
Most people can do EMS training. If you have a health condition which prevents you from participating in conventional sports, please consult with your doctor first. The training cannot be used by people with heart disease, who have a pacemaker or other implanted electric devises, during pregnancy, or who have a predisposition to epileptic seizures.
